Producer & vocalist Grove contorts dancehall, bass and hip-hop into a brand new beast, driven by sensual liberation and political defiance. Inspired by the DIY nature and ethos of punk, the catharsis of dance music & the power of Jamaican soundsystem culture, Grove feeds you food for thought while dancing and enough energy to turn thought into action. Since 2021 Grove has released a series of EPs, including ‘Queer + Black’; an exploration of identity, both personal (‘Black/Sticky’) and political (‘Fuck Ur Landlord’), and a deft combination of punchy hooks and splintering beats beamed in from a club in 3021 AD. Most recently, the double punch of 'PWR // PLY’ explores the multiplicity of power relationships through radical and playful lenses. 'BIG BOOTS' is a timely riposte to the monarchy, imperialism, systemic racism and a flame to the bunting choking the streets of the UK, while 'MILF MAGNET' celebrates the simple pleasures of appreciating beautiful older women. Through the last 2 years of tearing up festivals worldwide and supporting the likes of Bob Vylan, Peaches, BABii & Moonchild Sanelly, their sound has been publicly championed by Mary Anne Hobbs, Steve Lamacq, Jamz Supernova and Jack Saunders.

Denzel Himself is an interdisciplinary artist from outer-London. His gothic, hardcore, take on hip hop makes him no archetypal rapper. Described as “Dilla’s brain in Manson’s skull”, Denzel has carved his own distinct aesthetic and sound, a result of the synaesthesia he experiences, and an undiagnosed psychological disposition which both skews and intensifies the way he views life and art. Denzel’s multifaceted creative prowess has resulted in his apt moniker, Denzel Himself. With all releases to date being self-produced and all accompanying visuals being self-directed, the ex-film schooler aims to push his world and abilities to its limits. An artist in complete control of his creative destiny, Denzel Himself is one of the UK’s most important emerging creative minds.
