We are excited to announce our first exhibition with Fatima Barznge, opening on 30 | 09 | 2023. Fatima is an artist of iraqi-kurdish descent who lives in the Netherlands since 1997. 

Her technique stems from her fascination with the textures of fabric and the weaving, quilting and embroidery that used to be an essential part of Kurdish culture. She incorporated these old practices and blended them with her curiosity for western abstract art into a format, where silence, repetition and rhythm characterise her paintings.
 
By removing details and compressing foreground and background into an abstract image, she is telling her story, emerging from both material and immaterial elements she recognizes in the different lifestyles of the two cultures that she experiences.
